P21 is a nootropic peptide aimed at improving neurogenesis. Animal studies have shown that P21 increases the level of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor), thereby promoting neurogenesis (nerve growth) and suppressing the formation of amyloid plaques and tau proteins seen in Alzheimer's disease. BDNF was associated not only with increased neurogenesis, but also with the suppression of a certain enzyme responsible for the formation of tau protein and amyloid plaques in the brain in Alzheimer's disease. It was shown that P21 improves cognitive functions in animals.
